ICON Site Design: Making Your Online Portal Shine
January 04, 06, and 08 at 2:00pm

The more visually dynamic your ICON site is, the more your students will engage with it. In this three-day workshop, we'll be getting into the nitty-gritty of how to make your ICON site stand apart from the norm. Creating landing pages, headers, images for the Dashboard. A background in design is not necessary, however: we'll learn how to use simple, intuitive tools to create eye-popping images and graphics that will work with your existing ICON sites to make them more engaging and increase student interest. We'll show you how to make your online portal welcoming, exciting, and fun!

Creating Community: Using Video Apps to Build Bridges in the Online Classroom
January 11, 13, and 15 at 2:00pm

Are you interested in learning about advanced features in Zoom, Flipgrid, and other video apps? Creating an online and engaging environment is one of the most challenging aspects while teaching online. This workshop will go deeper into the features of Zoom, Flipgrid, and other video apps to optimize your online teaching environment. You don't need to be proficient in technology to attend this workshop; all levels from beginners to advanced will learn new techniques. Come and join the CLCL staff as we discuss, practice, and implement new skills with video apps! At the end of this workshop, everyone will feel confident about creating an engaging community in your Spring semester classes.

Program Promotion: How to Promote Your Courses, Events, Websites, and More
January 20 and 22 at 2:00pm

The University has recently revised the branding manual for all promotional materials, and our staff in DWLLC have become pros at making sure your materials will be exactly what the University wants them to be - and can teach you how to make them beautiful, too! This two-day workshop will cover using Canva to make eye-catching posters that follow brand guidelines; using the campus events calendar to make sure your event is publicized widely; creating newsletters quickly and easily in Sway; and preparing for the website transition as the University continues improving our online presence.
